Restoration project in Portugal

The restoration process

In the spring of 2024 we were invited down to Vinte Quinta da Boavista in the north of Portugal by former clients to restore this historic oak wagon, dated to be between 300-400 years old. This wagon has seen the evolution of humanity from working in the fields with oxen to now using industrial machinery. The key to restoration is knowing when to stop and what’s appropriate. In this case we wanted to keep its structural integrity for its future use but not change it aesthetics.
